KS4 VOCATIONAL PATHWAYS

At Key Stage 4 all our learners study Maths, English, Science, Humanities, PE, PHSE and Beliefs and Values either to Entry Level, BTEC or GCSE Level.

Our core driver in all subjects is the strong desire to build confidence in communicating both via the written and spoken word and to develop young people who are able to learn and think independently.

In addition our young people also have the opportunity to take part in a range of vocational pathways during the week and to choose from a list of accredited vocational courses in areas such as horticulture, animal care, building maintenance, food preparation & catering and child care.

Intent of our Vocational Pathways

To empower our students to be actively involved in decisions relating to their futures

To equip learners with the employability skills required to access the world of paid employment, supported internship, social enterprise involvement  or volunteering opportunities

To prepare our young people with the social and work skills and opportunities that reduce the risk of them becoming socially isolated into their adult lives

To create a positive and safe learning environment that will encourage learners to pursue their educational and vocational aspirations.
