Welcome to Cedars Academy Seniors Department
This is where you will find you will find the information you need if you are either a Senior Student or parent of a child in Key Stage 3&4.
Our aim is to support our students so they gain the confidence to become as independent as possible in all areas of their life. We see the individual strengths and abilities in all our students and nurture these to help each individual reach their potential.
At Cedars we strive to create a range of exciting learning opportunities. Classroom activities are often supplemented by educational visits, theatre trips, workshops, sporting competitions and residential experiences.
In addition, we take our role seriously in preparing our students for the world of work and offer a broad curriculum that encompasses key functional and vocational skills and provide vocational experiences so that students are well prepared for the next steps beyond compulsory education.
Our extensive extra-curricular programme provides numerous opportunities for leadership and social development. If you have a passion in film, drama, art, sport, outdoor adventure, the environment, literature or maths, we will do whatever we can to help you explore and develop the opportunities open to you.
Our school offers a nurturing environment. 'Pupils are open, welcoming and accepting of others from backgrounds different from their own. Pupils enjoy coming to school.' OFSTED 2017
New students often tell us that they settle in well and quickly feel part of the Cedars 'family'.
For further information specific to your child please contact your child's key person or Daniel Hearne (AHTKS3&4).
