Ofsted and performance

Ofsted inspected Cedars Academy on 18 and 19 January 2023. This was an ungraded inspection, which confirmed that Cedars continues to be a good school.

 

What Ofsted found

“Pupils thrive at Cedars Academy.”

Inspectors recognised the strong relationships between staff and pupils, staff’s detailed understanding of individual needs, and the support provided for pupils who find communication difficult.

 

The report highlighted carefully planned approaches to reading and adaptations to learning for pupils with more complex needs.

 

“There is a strong culture of safeguarding across the school.”

Inspectors also identified further work to develop subject leadership and clarify responsibilities for support and accountability at Trust level.

We recognise achievement in communication, independence, engagement, wellbeing and preparation for adult life, as well as academic learning and qualifications.
